What is an Occasion in LaudWords?
When creating a Laud Crowd, users must select an Occasion. The selected occasion impacts how the Laud functions, the available options, and the appearance.
Available Occasion Types
The following occasions are currently supported:
- Farewell (Work-Related) - Used when someone is leaving a company.
- Farewell (Non-Work-Related) - For personal goodbyes or transitions.
- Congratulations - To celebrate achievements, promotions, or personal milestones.
- Milestone - For birthdays, anniversaries, or other major events.
How the Occasion Impacts the Laud
1. Available Contributor Options
Some contributor options vary based on the occasion. For example:
- Farewell (Work-Related) Lauds may allow contributors to offer a Reference Letter.
- Milestone Lauds may encourage contributors to offer a Coffee Hang or Gift Suggestion.
2. Laud Naming & Messaging Variations
- Default Laud titles and internal messages adjust based on the selected occasion.
- For example, a Farewell Laud might automatically suggest a title like “Goodbye & Good Luck, [Name]!”
3. Notification & Reminder Adjustments
- The notification text for contributors and recipients is customized to match the occasion type.
- A Milestone Laud might use celebratory messaging, while a Farewell Laud may have a more formal tone.
How to Select an Occasion
- During the Laud Creation process, navigate to the Title & Occasion step.
- Click the Occasion Dropdown Menu.
