How Occasion Is Used

What is an Occasion in LaudWords?

When creating a Laud Crowd, users must select an Occasion. The selected occasion impacts how the Laud functions, the available options, and the appearance.

Available Occasion Types

The following occasions are currently supported:

  • Farewell (Work-Related) - Used when someone is leaving a company.
  • Farewell (Non-Work-Related) - For personal goodbyes or transitions.
  • Congratulations - To celebrate achievements, promotions, or personal milestones.
  • Milestone - For birthdays, anniversaries, or other major events.

How the Occasion Impacts the Laud

1. Available Contributor Options

Some contributor options vary based on the occasion. For example:

  • Farewell (Work-Related) Lauds may allow contributors to offer a Reference Letter.
  • Milestone Lauds may encourage contributors to offer a Coffee Hang or Gift Suggestion.

2. Laud Naming & Messaging Variations

  • Default Laud titles and internal messages adjust based on the selected occasion.
  • For example, a Farewell Laud might automatically suggest a title like “Goodbye & Good Luck, [Name]!”

3. Notification & Reminder Adjustments

  • The notification text for contributors and recipients is customized to match the occasion type.
  • A Milestone Laud might use celebratory messaging, while a Farewell Laud may have a more formal tone.

How to Select an Occasion

  1. During the Laud Creation process, navigate to the Title & Occasion step.
  2. Click the Occasion Dropdown Menu.
  3. Select one of the available options.
  4. After selecting an occasion, you can Customize the Laud title in the input field if needed.
  5. Proceed to the next step to complete your Laud setup.

Note: More occasion types may be introduced in future updates.
